Ana ma Petit Tresor - Love Australian Handmade
Hi, I made your clothes (or accessories)! Let me start by telling you a bit about myself!
I’m Anh and I am obsessed with fabric.  I love pairing fabric with various items of clothing to make them stand out yet also be a classic staple in anyone's wardrobe.  I am a social worker by profession but since having my two children, have focussed on my handmade business.  I live in sunny Brisbane, Queensland.

I love travelling, eating out, salty chips, rustle-y paper bags, the smell of rain, sleeping in, and singing loudly in the car.

What is your business? When did you start your handmade journey and why?
I have been running Ana, ma Petit Tresor for over 6 years and am also one half of Love Australian HandmadeI am extremely passionate about Australian handmade and have loved artisan and handmade items since I was a child.  I have always been crafty with my hands and after having my first child, Ana, I dabbled in making French millinery silk hair flowers.  Ana ma Petit Tresor started back then and has evolved into what it is now.

What is the most recent handmade piece you've made and tell us a bit about it!
This year I have been making more and more ladies dresses and this is the most recent one I've made.  I absolutely love focussing on the beauty of fabric and the emotion fabric prints and colours can trigger.  This one definitely reminds people of their childhood in Australia and that beautiful nostalgic reminder of being a kid.   I want that feeling of warmth to be present when wearing this dress... because even as an adult doing your adult-y thing, this can bring joy and comfort.

What was your favourite piece to make and why?
I will never tire of making skirts with my signature bow sash.  It is a simple yet classic skirt that just never ages.  Pair that with a stunning Liberty fabric print and snack holes (pockets) and I'm happy!
Why are you so passionate about handmade? Why do you do, what you do?
I started this journey because I love working with my hands and it was a great way to express myself.  However really, I love that I can chat to my customers and make things that they will treasure for THEM.  I value so many things about what handmade can bring - direct contact with my people (because they really are my people!), uniquely made items, and quality that lasts for many years.  Doing this and being able to help support my family is honestly the best thing I've achieved in my working life!
What's coming next?
With winter coming up, I am turning my mind to ladies upcycled capes.  Each cape is made from Australian pure wool, and lined with good old fashioned vintage floral fabric.  I want these capes to feel like a warm hug in the morning, look unique and fantastic, and of course, bring that nostalgic happiness to the wearer.
