I'm Amanda, I'm 37 and live on the South Coast of NSW with my hubby Mark and two Children - Amelie and Hudson. I was a former travel agent and now do the sewing/mum thing full-time.
I handmake children's clothing and accessories. I started Lullaby Riot in 2015 while on maternity leave with my daughter. I always loved sewing, so when she was born I designed and made her some bibs. My friends loved them and wanted some too, so it started from there. My bibs were stocked in my first shop within a few months and it has just grown from there. I now have a range of clothing for both girls and boys.
What is the most recent handmade piece you've made and tell us a bit about it!
My Autumn Winter Collection has just been released. I absolutely love matchy matchy - it's just perfect for siblings. I love the colours - navy, mustard and monochrome.
What was your favourite piece to make and why?
My favourite would be the matching set I made for myself and my daughter. I just love this fabric by Australian designer, Ellie Whittaker.
Why are you so passionate about handmade? Why do you do, what you do?
You can just feel the love and care that goes into handmade clothing. The difference in quality and uniqueness in comparison to store bought clothing is unbelievable.
I can't describe the feeling of joy I get when I receive an email or get tagged in a photo of something I've made in action.
What's coming next?
More matchy matchy of course, but this time in a neutral colour palette.
